Unit 5H – “Conversation About Nuclear”

Unit 5H encompasses one large wall-mounted graphic panel with a sweeping image of a nuclear plant dominated by a cooling tower. A small overlay graphic panel describes the purpose of cooling towers, which although used in many manufacturing processes are most often associated with nuclear power plants. Text reassures visitors that the plumes seen rising from the towers are simply water vapor.

Media Treatment (MT10)

This engaging interactive employs video on a 46” LCD monitor and a 32” touchscreen to stimulate a “Conversation About Nuclear.” Using the touchscreen, visitors select different people on screen who pose questions relating to nuclear power. These questions include why there is a need for new nuclear plants, how used fuel can be safely stored, who works at a nuclear power plant, how the industry is responding to the events at Fukushima, and much more. In turn, nuclear experts provide thorough answers.
