Unit 5G – “Closing the Fuel Cycle”

Product Thumb:

This wall-mounted graphic panel introduces the concept of “closing the fuel cycle” by recycling used fuel that has yet to release all of its energy. While reusing nuclear fuel significantly decreases its volume and toxicity, the U.S. currently does not reprocess fuel. Text describes the international protocols of the NPT and also mentions which countries currently reprocess fuel.

Three readily comprehensible diagrams illustrate a canister of used fuel residues, a fuel rod indicating the percentages that can be recycled versus true waste, and the nuclear fuel cycle.
